The "citizen's jury" mechanism
In the 2013 – 2014 period, Bauersachs Foundation implemented the project “Active citizenship – the Bauersachs approach” with the support of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area. Project “Active Citizenship – The Bauersachs Approach” aimed to increase the degree of civic participation in the decision-making process at local level, including among young people.
Within 14 months, 6 meetings were held using the “citizen’s jury” method, with the aim of formulating a citizen’s opinion/recommendations regarding the resolution of a given issue/s and later presented to the local authority.
The project helped the participating citizens to formulate more than 90 recommendations. The project team developed and implemented in practice (according to available data, for the first time in Bulgaria) a mechanism for active citizen participation in the decision-making process at the local level, namely “citizen’s jury”.
Monitoring the work of Plovdiv Municipal Council's commissions
Project “Increasing the activity of the civil sector in order to enforce transparency in the work of the Plovdiv City Council” is financed within the framework of the Program for the support of NGOs in Bulgaria under the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2009-2014.

To achieve this goal, in the 2015-2016 period, regular monitoring of the meetings of the commissions of the Plovdiv Municipal Council was carried out, followed by an expert analysis of the information and its distribution among interested parties in the form of a report .
The project also involved identifying and working with active NGOs, informal groups, journalists and citizens.
