Tech Fest 2022 took place in Plovdiv among great interest from students, teachers and parents. Over 360 students from primary schools took part in the activities, which were prepared by ABB Bulgaria, Biomashinostroene AD, BTL Industries, Liebherr – Hausgerete Maritsa, Hanon Systems Plovdiv, Schneider Electric, as well as the Vocational High School of Electrical Engineering and Electronics and the Vocational High School of Food Technology and Technique.
The event, which took place on October 21 at the House of Science and Technology, showed young students the future of technology and engineering professions in a fun and engaging way, as well as the importance of the skills and competencies that vocational education provides.
During the event, students took part in workshops and activities with the opportunity to assemble and make different models of machines and devices, as well as participate in practical demonstrations and experiments.
The event is organized by Bauersachs Foundation, within the “Technology” program of the Plovdiv Educational-Industrial Board. The main focus of the program is early career orientation and motivation and familiarization with technical professions and is aimed at primary school students.
The program continues in November and December with the following activities:
- Visits to manufacturing plants
The visits take place in some of the most modern and safe enterprises in the Plovdiv region and
take place within 45 – 90 minutes. Students have the opportunity to learn about the production process and the necessary
professional skills. The students are in groups of 15, accompanied by teaching staff from the school.
- “Technology” workshops
The workshops are held on the territory of the primary schools. During the workshops, students have the opportunity to actively participate in experiments and demonstrations. Technological companies, part of the partner network of the program, as well as vocational high schools from the city of Plovdiv, took part in the workshops.
- Tech Fest 2023
The next edition of Tech Fest is scheduled for spring 2023 with an expanded number of participants and locations. Tech Fest 2023 is planned as a festival in an urban environment for children and parents with a variety of activities such as workshops, games and competitions, and an exhibition part.
